John Pappas

John Pappas has studied at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), Department of Applied Informatics. For more than 25 years, he is a consultant to various public and private sector organizations in the fields of project management, design and management of e-Government, e-Business, e-Commerce, Digital Culture, Internet & Social Media marketing initiatives, mentoring & coaching activities mainly to SMEs, Education & Training and organization and implementation of promotional campaigns.

Organizations he has worked for in the above-mentioned topics include:  Hellenic Ministry of Culture, Hellenic Ministry of Tourism, Hellenic Ministry of Development, the National Confederation of Hellenic Commerce (ESEE), the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), the Commercial and Industrial Chamber of Piraeus (EVEP), the Chamber of Cyclades, the American – Hellenic Chamber of Commerce etc.

As a pioneer in Digital Economy in Greece, he has managed and implemented some of the most innovative and successful projects in this field, such as the first Web TV system implemented for a famous sports club in Greece and abroad (P.A.O.K. F.C.).

He was also a consultant of the Greek ECR Committee (ECR Hellas) on issues relating to the use of modern technology in the retail industry and is a member of Technical Committee 83 of the Greek Standards Organization (ELOT) which deals with standardization in the field of Electronic Commerce. He has been a member of E-Business Forum Committees.

He has excellent knowledge in the fields of planning, management and implementation of projects co-financed by the EU and has designed numerous projects that have been integrated into (and funded by) operational programs of the Second and Third Community Support Frameworks (1994-1999 and 2000-2006), and the National Strategic Reference Frameworks (NSRF) 2007-2013 and 2014-2020.
